How the tracker works
We follow about fifty Solana pools: the forty with the most volume in the last 24 hours that hold at least $250,000 of real liquidity, plus the tokens our users scan most. Stablecoin and liquid staking pools are left out, because a big USDC swap says little about demand.
Every 5 minutes the tracker reads the latest large trades of those pools from GeckoTerminal's public data. A trade from $50,000 is a whale; from $10,000 to $50,000 it is a big trade. Each one links to the transaction and to the wallet on Solscan, so you can check it yourself.
When a wallet is a known address, such as an exchange hot wallet, the feed shows its label. A large transfer towards an exchange is often a sale on the way.
How to read whale flows
One whale trade is noise: a fund rebalancing, a market maker, an arbitrage bot. Patterns are more useful. Several large buys on the same token across different wallets, or a steady net outflow over a day, tell you more than any single trade.
Compare the flow with the liquidity. A $100,000 sell into a pool with $5 million of liquidity barely moves the price; the same sell into a $300,000 pool is a crash. Before acting on a whale move, scan the token and look at its liquidity and holders.
Questions
- What counts as a whale on Solana?
- Here, any single swap worth $50,000 or more on one of the tracked pools. Trades from $10,000 are shown as big trades. The thresholds are the same for every token.
- Is the whale tracker free?
- Yes. The page, the feed and the Telegram alerts are free and use only public data.
- Why is a token I hold missing?
- Only pools with enough volume and real liquidity are tracked, to keep wash trading out. If many people scan a token, it enters the list automatically.
- Should I copy whale trades?
- No. You see the trade after it happened, without knowing why it was made. Use whale flows as one signal among others, never as a buy or sell instruction.
